Every trade, whether now or in the off-season, will be measured by one standard: does it move the team closer to a championship?
I believe the only thing Mr. Connelly will do by the mid-season deadline is trade Juancho Hernangomez. His focus should be on the off-season and obtaining a top-tier talent that can put the Nuggets in the championship race. Let’s use Bradley Beal as an example of what it would cost for a superstar trade this summer, based on the Paul George and Anthony Davis trades. Acquiring that level of player will require trading Jamal Murray, Will Barton, at least one other player not named Nikola or Michael, and four or five first round draft picks. Off-loading Jamal provides affordability for retaining another max player; Bradley Beal in this example. If Mr. Connelly re-signs Malik Beasley, as I would hope, Malik would not be eligible to be tradeed until December 15, 2020. The team could trade him for a first round pick by February 6th and that draft pick would become part of the draft capital for an earth moving trade. That’s playing the long game.

I like the idea of keeping this squad together for this year, we lose a couple pieces this offseason, but I believe we’ll get Millsap back on a better contract. I think Plumdog is gone, but looking at the FA class for the C position this coming off season I think there are a few budget options that would be good.
My question for you all: Would Nerlens Noel do well in Denver? I think Denver needs a rim protector as a backup C and he wouldn’t be the 10+ million that we’d need to spend on Plumlee.

If the Nuggets were to trade Gary Harris + Mason Plumlee for Chris Paul could they win the championship this year? I feel like it’s a fun discussion because ~I~ think adding CP3 would put the Nuggets in the Bucks/Lakers/Clippers tier.
I think OKC would take that deal to get off CP3’s salary – but maybe they really value what they are doing this year and would need another asset. Either way – what do you guys think? The proposed trade is really the only thing that would work salary wise, FYI
