I wish the best for the overall development for both Mudiay and Murray in their NBA careers and I think it has been wise for the Nuggets to be clear that it is an “open competition” for the starting point guard position this year. Yet, while the better point guard fit for the Nuggets will be fairly evident within about 20 games, creating a guard rotation that includes ALL FOUR of the Nuggets primary COMBO guards Harris, Murray, Mudiay and Barton for at least 22+ min/game is a greater priority than who starts the game. The Jokic-led Point-Center offense is the reason why Denver will benefit from having more athletic and versatile combo guards than it would from having a traditional all-star point guard. The Nuggets had the best offense in the NBA since Jokic started last Dec 15th because opposing teams had to guard 5 capable scorers spread out on offense instead of the historical “two star” system or recent “Big Three” teams–and we even outscored the First “BIG FOUR” Golden State Warriors!
