The Denver Nuggets finished the 2015-16 season with a 33-49 record; well out of the playoffs but building a team with a strong foundation and culture. However, things change fast in the NBA and expectations for the team could be on the rise sooner than expected.
Nuggets GM Tim Connelly said recently that the team is done missing the playoffs, while Head Coach Michael Malone took a more measured approach by saying a wait-and-see approach is best as the roster for the 2016-17 season is nowhere near complete. Harrison Wind and I discuss what those comments might mean from each guy’s perspective.
Before that talk, we discuss each player, how their season unfolded and what to expect from them this summer — including if we expect them to return to the Nuggets. It’s hard to pinpoint disappointing seasons from the young guys on this roster, but there is definitely a lot of growth that needs to take place.
To wrap up the show we delve into the first round matchups in both the Eastern and Western conferences and give our thoughts on how those series might play out. The post season is upon us, where will the Nuggets go from here?

DA is a good guy, but has reached his ceiling and must be used with discretion. Faried needs to come off the bench but can be major impact. Nurk is best on team and has only tapped his potential. Why, because he knows Malone is the boss now, and is smart; ie, less fouls, incredible passing, foot and hand speed at 7 feet 280 as a kid! Dominant player. When he learns how to defend the top centers w/o fouling, slows down and doesn’t have to shoot unless he has time, top 5 centers above Jok, who s/b a power forward. Unless we get Griffon and maybe Love, keep the same team. The longer they can improve together at their age, the more they will improve. I see a young Golden State here. Keep the old men for stability unless….
