The first half didn’t go as anyone planned in Denver’s home opener. Maybe it’s what the New Orleans Pelicans hoped for, but even they must have been shocked by how easily they opened up a 23-point lead over the Nuggets.
The home crowd was less than pleased — a small smattering of boos grew with New Orleans’ lead, reaching a crescendo that fans at home could hear through their TVs and the players on the floor could not ignore.
The Nuggets have made a habit of big comebacks, a trait that is inherently accompanied by a habit for slow starts. And to pull off the win in their home opener, they’d need to complete the largest comeback at home in team history.
