Did you see Malik’s defense?MPJ can only make it worse.

It wasn’t good against Dallas but he’s shown he can be an impactful defender at times. It’s an aspect of his game he MUST grow this year.

Denver’s low post defense is awful. Opposing teams attack the basket with impunity resulting in way too many layups and dunks. One reason for this is Jokic’s awful defense. The lack of a true shot blocker at the 4 and the 5 positions also contributes to their matador defense.
And on a team with so much talent the Nuggets offense frequently looks aimless with multiple passes out on the distant perimeter leading often to forcing up desperate shots with very little time on the shot clock. Barton is almost the only Nugget who can put pressure on the defense with drives to the hoop.
And what seems to be wrong with Jokic?Although the season is only 4 games old, he certainly doesn’t look like the 1st team all-pro we saw last year. He has been dominated by some very average opposing centers and he continues to show lack of positive emotion.

Jokic has not been good on defense so far this season, no breaking news there. The shot-blocking 4/5 that you talk about is Jerami Grant. He’s still getting comfortable in Denver’s system but I think he emerges as a rim protector the Nuggets haven’t had in the past.

I am not sure why we didn’t attack the post more when the PnR wasn’t working. Paul and Jokic were doing a pretty good job posting up. Jamal was hitting the mid-range so I don’t know why we didn’t go to him more often too… The offense just looks not good

One thing Malone has mentioned that he wants to see more of is early post-ups for Jokic/Millsap. Think that’s something which Denver hasn’t done a lot this year, which the Nuggets did last season, that can help the offense.

Malone may be smarter than you guys but he’s made the playoffs 1 time in 7 seasons and lost to an inferior team at home after having a 17 point lead.
Is he smarter than everyone?
At what point will you guys realize he’s not a good coach and needs to be replaced?

The tables turn quick. Malone finished second in Coach of the Year voting in a season that ended five months ago.
