The Miami Heat know how to cook up and execute a game plan. In game two of the NBA Finals, the Heat lured Jamal Murray into tough shots by taking away the Jokic-Murray two-man game. They also took advantage of Denver’s desire to stunt on Jimmy Butler drives, opening up wide open shots from Miami’s three-point shooters. It’s about 2pm gameday and ready to logout of work and watch them play.
How their communication and effort on screens can be so poor this late in the year is surprising. I get it a little on some of the off ball double screening actions that are a little more than the vanilla on ball screens, but everything here is easily corrected. They are too good to be held down with something so basic, communication and effort.
MPJ has been a bright spot all year. Let’s not lose hope in his defensive improvement and elite shooting too quickly. Let’s will him to a bounce back game.
Thanks for the analysis. It adds great depth to enjoying this run. Keep up the good work fellas!
