I’m very interested to see what the Nuggets will have to say at media day regarding their hopes for the season and how they have reflected on their Game 7 home loss. They should be taking notes from Mel Tucker’s and Rick George’s “why not us” mentality.

A question for the mailbag: How hard do you think the Nuggets took the Game 7 loss? While it was on a bigger stage with higher stakes than the Game 82 loss in 2018, I feel like I heard more about how devastated the players and coaches were for that 2018 loss than this year’s 2019 loss. Last year, they turned that bitterness into motivation for a magical season. Do you think they have the same frustration and need to prove themselves this year like they did last year?

I’m hoping that we hear a lot of that motivation and chip-on-your-shoulder mentality coming from their comments today on media day.

Thanks for the question Josh and we’ll get to it on this week’s mailbag. Check out or Twitter timelines and article that was posted Monday afternoon in regards to how they’re viewing this season. Denver is very much taking on a “why not us?” mentality. As far as Game 7 goes, I think every player took it differently but we’ll definitely discuss it this week.
