I feel like Jokic and Harris have been the leaders on this team all year. Both come to play the right way pretty much every game. Sometimes I feel like Jokic gets too pass happy, mostly because if he really asserted himself, I think he could probably average 30 points per game. It is nice to know the Nuggets are really trying to lean on him now with Milsap being out. It’s good to see Faried getting some real minutes finally, he’s another guy who I’ve been impressed with this year. He seems to have handled his situation very well, and while it sucks to lose Milsap, it’s nice that something good can come from it, in terms of more PT for the Manimal.

Malone commented about his love of ‘that young team’ on the floor in the fourth. He will either start or put Juancho and Faried together in the near future. Juancho has a certain ‘magic’ in his effort and attitude; when he gets back in shape he will be terrific. If you give Faried respect, he will play like no one else can. If Millsap plays with Chandler or Lyle and Barton, Plumlee and (gulp) Mudiay on the second team, both teams could maintain energy and synergy. The problem is the second team’s defense. This is where Millsap could lead. Exception: when we play another good big, like Nurk, start Plumlee with Jokic. Plumlee needs to tackle the big bigs to save the Joker.

It was very encouraging to see the lineup of Murray, Harris, Juancho, Faried and Jokic play very well together. If Juancho can be a starter within 1 or 2 years, Connelly’s efforts to rebuild the roster with exceptional young talent will be a great success. When energized, the attention that Faried captures
from the opposing defense, helps Jokic to have the space to be a better offensive Leader. I hope this
new lineup is worthy of playing clutch minutes together and continues to win games for us. Go Nuggets!
