Malone needs to stick with the success of last year’s offense by maintaining: 1. Jokic as the primary high post facilitator. 2. Weaving all players around the perimeter in order to keep the lane completely open at all times until a cut or a drive to the basket is open for a likely score. 3. More movement = easier shots.
Denver should not trade anybody until they fully attempt to repeat last year’s offense with their current core rotation of players. Therefore, Millsap needs move around like everybody else even though he is not a 3pt threat first-do not wait for the ball to come to you (a la Melo)-move around, set screens and cut to the basket and then utilize your CRAFTY ways to score towards the rim after the defense is playing catch up. Chandler’s offense will improve with a more frequent open lane. Murray can increase his shooting confidence when Jokic is facilitating more. An open lane allows Faried to get more offensive rebounds. Gary Harris thrives off of being a threat from 3 or cutting to the basket when Jokic has the ball.
Denver should wait before trading any players and maximize their willingness and effort to replicate the BEST OFFENSE IN DENVER NUGGET HISTORY.
