This is a concept with which many organizations struggle. A great book on the subject is “Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap…and Others Don’t,” by James C. Collins.

Hopefully, Malone is the type of leader who can inspire the “floor managers” in Jokic, Murray, and all of the rest to aspire to greatness within their confined role. As you stated, greatness at your role, a’la Igoudala, Rodman, and Horry, get you paid in the end.

Malone has gone “all in” on how he is handling MPJ. Hope he knows what he’s doing. Thinking MPJ is analogous to some bust out bad lottery pick point guard is just dumb.
Porter is going to be the guy that enables the Nuggets to win a championship. I wonder if Malone will be around to watch.
