The Denver Nuggets will cross the pond to play the Indiana Pacers in London on January 12, 2017, as part of next season’s NBA Global Games at the O2 Arena. Guard Gary Harris helped make the announcement from the NBA’s European headquarters in London via Facebook Live.

It’s the first time in team history the Nuggets will play a game in the U.K. and the NBA’s seventh regular-season game in London. The Global Games are part of an effort on the NBA’s part to continue to grow the game’s popularity overseas. Currently about 25 percent of NBA players are born outside of the U.S.

“It will be a true honor and a great experience to represent both the Nuggets and the NBA in London as part of the NBA Global Games in 2017,” forward Danilo Gallinari told NBA.com. “Our entire team and organization are looking forward to this opportunity to showcase our league to fans overseas.”

The Nuggets and Pacers logos were made into street art in Stockwell, London, and revealed for viewers on the Facebook Live feed.

Tickets for the game will go on sale at the beginning of the 2016-17 NBA season. Fans in the U.K. will be able to watch the game live on BT Sport, while fans in Europe will be able to view it through the NBA’s official local broadcast partners. The Nuggets are the designated home team.
