The Denver Nuggets announced today that they plan to host their first individual pre-draft workout of the offseason Thursday, featuring Marquette forward Henry Ellenson.
Ellenson, 19, is a versatile offensive four-man, who averaged 17.0 points, and 9.7 rebounds on 44.6 percent shooting his freshman season. The Wisconsin native only shot the ball at a 28.8 percent clip from three at Marquette but has good form and fundamentals, and projects as a threat from 3-point land at the next level.
Ellenson is currently projected as a top-10 pick.
While Ellenson will have the gym to himself in the afternoon, the Nuggets will also host a morning workout featuring six more prospects.
Malachi Richardson (Syracuse), Brice Johnson (North Carolina), Chris Obekpa (UNLV), Kay Felder (Oakland), Josh Adams (Wyoming) and Guershcon Yabusele (France) will all participate in the group workout Thursday morning.
Richardson, probably the most intriguing name in the group, was once looked at as a second-round pick but is shooting up draft boards and getting buzz as a potential top-10 selection after his recent workouts. The 20-year-old is a 6-foot-6 wing who has great measurable but never put it all together on the floor and struggled offensively for Syracuse last season. Richardson an intriguing prospect who now could go as high as the lottery or middle of the first round where the Nuggets have two picks.
