Nuggets, Timberwolves to play preseason game in Nebraska

The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Wednesday that they plan to play a preseason game against the Denver Nuggets in Lincoln, Nebraska next season.

The exhibition will be played at Pinnacle Bank Arena, on Oct. 12, where last year a standing-room-only crowd of 15,000 created a raucous atmosphere, rare for a preseason game.

“We’re looking forward to bringing our franchise back to Nebraska and to Lincoln for the very first time,” Timberwolves President Chris Wright said in a press release. “This off-site game is a great opportunity to connect with our fans in Nebraska and bring the excitement of NBA basketball right to their front door.”

The Nuggets haven’t released any additional information about their preseason schedule but like last year, I wouldn’t expect it to include many games in Denver.

Last season, only one of Denver’s seven preseason contests was played at Pepsi Center.
