The Nuggets continue to be an enigma, a mid January five game winning streak placing the team two games out of the playoffs, was followed by a seven game losing streak plummeting back to the bottom of the conference.
After a bounce-back road win against a good young Pelicans team in New Orleans Tuesday, the team followed that up with what might have been their worst effort of the season, scoring a season low 69 points in Memphis last night.
The Nuggets don’t have many answers right now, including the coach.
Shaw: “I feel like I get thrown under the bus when we come out with performances like that…”

Shaw: “So any questions that you have in terms of our effort, where it was, why we played the way we played tonight…” — Chris Dempsey (@dempseypost) January 30, 2015
Shaw: “… those are good questions to ask them because I’d like to know the answer to that, too.” #Nuggets

Newly aquired Nuggets guard Jameer Nelson also got in on the fun after Thursday’s loss.
Nelson: “We do have to take ownership of things we need to do & get better at, individually & collectively. Everybody, coaches included.”

This is a troubling quote for a player who just arrived on the team but he might have hit the nail on the head. Brian Shaw has often struggled to maintain focus during his tenure as Nuggets coach and Jameer has appeared to catch on to that already.
Denver will have a chance to get back into the win column as they host the Charlotte Hornets at Pepsi Center Saturday night.
