Denver Nuggets’ rookie Jamal Murray played the entire season through a sports hernia, Altitude Sports’ Christopher Dempsey reports. Murray will seek treatment on his hernia this summer and is expected to be ready for training camp in September.

Watching Murray during his rookie campaign, it was tough to tell that the 20-year-old was suffering. Murray was the only Nuggets’ player to appear in all 82 regular-season games and dealt with right groin soreness in early February but didn’t miss any time. The No. 7 overall pick in last summer’s draft averaged 9.9 points on 40.4 percent shooting from the field and 33.4 percent from three to go with 2.1 assists per game

The Kentucky product started nine games for the Nuggets this season and Denver was 6-1 in games that Murray started at point guard, six of which came over the Nuggets’ last seven games of the year.

Last season, Brandon Knight and Deron Williams had their seasons end prematurely after suffering sports hernias. Both players opted for offseason surgery and were healthy for the start of training camp.
