DENVER — The Denver Nuggets have waived forward Alonzo Gee, the team announced Friday.
Gee, 29, appeared in 13 games for the Nuggets this season. He averaged 6.8 minutes per game and scored a season-high seven points in 27 minutes in Denver’s 132-129 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder back on Nov. 25.
The seven-year veteran was signed by Denver on Nov. 18 after the team waived Jarnell Stokes. Gee was brought to Denver, billed as a tough wing defender and rotation filler when the Nuggets were without Will Barton and Gary Harris, who both missed time with injury at the onset of the regular season. However, Gee was left without a role once Denver returned to full health. His $1.1 million salary was set to become guaranteed on Jan. 10.
