According to the Denver Post’s Chris Dempsey, the Nuggets will begin their pre-draft workouts this week with a few familiar names present.

Wednesday will feature Colorado guard Askia Booker, Colorado State forwards JJ Avila and Stanton Kidd, Fort Lewis forward Alex Herrera, Metro State guard Mitch McCarron, and Wyoming forward Derek Cooke.

The following day, Colorado State guard Daniel Bejarano, University of Denver guards Cam Griffin and Brett Olson, and Florida guard Michael Frazier II will workout at the Pepsi Center for Nuggets personnel.

Denver is slated to pick seventh in next month’s draft, but also holds a second round selection, number 57 overall which was acquired in 2009 via the Los Angeles Clippers.

The prospects in for this round of workouts would most likely be in play for Denver at 57, or could be signed to the Nuggets’ Las Vegas summer league roster which begins play July 10th at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the University of Nevada Las Vegas campus.

Stay tuned for more news on pre-draft workouts as they become available.
