Juancho Hernangomez and Malik Beasley highlight the Nuggets’ roster for the Las Vegas Summer League set to tip off July 7 from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas.
Hernangomez, the 15th overall pick in the 2016 draft and Beasley, the 19th overall selection, both participated in Summer League last offseason but played a limited role this year in Denver. 2017 first-round pick Tyler Lydon and second-rounder Monte Morris will join them in Las Vegas as well. 49th overall pick Vlatko Cancar will not play with the team due to national team commitments.
Other names to keep an eye on are 2015 draft-and-stash point guard Nikola Radicevic, who’s been playing in Spain, and 2016 draft-and-stash big man Petr Cornelie, who spent last year in France.
Xavier Johnson, who played his college ball at the University of Colorado – Boulder and Thomas Bropleh, who attended George Washington High School in Denver, are on the roster as well.
The Nuggets’ first Summer League game is July 7 against Houston. Denver will also hold a four-day Summer League mini-camp that runs from Monday, July 3 through Thursday, July 6 before the team flies to Las Vegas. The team will be coached by assistant Micah Nori, who’s coached the Nuggets’ Summer League squad for the past two seasons.
