Nikola Jokic had a quiet shooting night against the Memphis Grizzlies. His lone field goal attempt of the night came as the final seconds of regulation were ticking off the clock. His game-winning 3-point attempt hit off the back rim.

Two nights later, it took Jokic less than two minutes to hoist his first shot. He caught the ball on the right side of the floor and drained one from mid-range to give Denver its first points of the game. Jokic bounced back from his four-point game in Memphis with a 37-point, 21-rebound performance against the Brooklyn Nets on Friday.

He scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the first half alone, but it was not enough as the Nuggets fell 112-110.

The game was tied at 110 with 29.4 seconds to go. Denver tried to go to Jokic in the post, but he was called for a travel. Caris LeVert responded with a tough contested floater on the other end to give the Nets the lead for good.

Jokic had it going early, but Denver still trailed by 10 after the first quarter and by 14 at one point in the first half. Gary Harris had uncharacteristic off night. He missed his first 10 shots and finished with four points.

Backup point guard Monte Morris (15 points on 7-for-11 shooting) was a bright spot once again. He also contributed six rebounds and two assists.

Five Nets scored in double figures. D’Angelo Russell led the way with 23. Jarrett Allen had 18 points and five blocks.

The Nuggets, who shot just 5 for 18 from 3-point range, fell to 9-3. They suffered their first losing streak of the season.
