FORT COLLINS, Colo. — After visiting Colorado State over the weekend, Isaiah Rivera verbally committed to the Rams via Twitter Monday afternoon. The 6-foot-5, 185-pound, wing is Niko Medved’s first verbal commitment for the 2020 recruiting cycle.
“Today, my dreams become a reality as I commit to Colorado State University to continue my basketball career and further my education,” Rivera wrote.
My decision is made 🙏🏾All Glory to God 🙏🏾 I’m coming‼️🐏🏔 pic.twitter.com/jRLn1kVXj0

Scott Burgess of prephoops.com, wrote that Rivera is one of the top 5 basketball prospects in all of Illinois. According to 247Sports, Rivera has offers from Drake, Loyola-Chicago, Southern University and St. Johns. It seems that Medved’s midwest roots proved to come in handy again, though, as Rivera picked the Rams over all those programs.
With the recruiting cycle beginning today, look for things to heat up for CSU. More than one player took an official visit over the weekend and the staff is expected to be on the road again this week.
