Mike Bobo is nothing if not a realist. He understands this isn’t Georgia or the SEC and he sees the need for student attendance to football games this fall.
That’s why he invited students out to football practice on Tuesday, and to realize the student-athletes and students are all in it together.
“You want the student body to realize it’s their football team,” Bobo said. “It’s just not us over here, practicing, lifting weights. It’s the whole university’s football team. And we’re trying to encourage student attendance…I wanted to personally invite them out to the game and personally challenge them for not only them to come but to grab two, three friends to come to every game.”
Bobo said the practice was good, but not great. “We’ve got to get our mind right as soon as we walk into the building,” he said.
Specifically on the offense, Bobo explained his thought process as the season nears.
“At the end of the day, we want to be balanced,” Bobo explained of his offense. “And be able to have explosive plays both run and pass. But at the same time, we’re going to play to our strengths. If we feel like the receiving corps and tight end corps is a little more strength then we might be a little more tilted pass to run.”
