Mike Bobo seems to be quickly winning over his team.
Earlier in camp, he brought the team ice cream by driving the ice cream truck right up to them. And when talking to the players directly, they can’t wait to go to war for their head coach. They love his energy, his attitude, his winning swagger and the way he leads the team.
Well, they have another reason to love him now.
After brining the entire team together for a meeting, Bobo announced the scholarship for senior offensive lineman Kevin O’Brien.
O’Brien looks straight-up stunned, his teammates cheer and Trent Matthews comes over to embrace him in a giant hug. Then Bobo gives out the bear hug and gives us insight to their first meeting.
We predicted O’Brien to be the starting left guard this year, could he be? As another coach says in the video, “If we had 22 Kevin O’Briens, we would never lose a game coach.” His effort and energy are being celebrated; well-done, Kevin.
Colorado State and Mike Bobo are building something special, not only on the football field, but starting off the field by bonding this summer.
