Paxton Lynch may just be QB1 when the Broncos take to the field for the beginning of their organized team activities next Tuesday.
Why? Well, the guy who was expected to hold that spot, Mark Sanchez injured his left thumb lifting weights last week and was forced to undergo surgery on the hand to repair a torn ligament this past weekend, as first reported by 9 News’ Mike Klis.
The good news for the Broncos is the surgery, which took place in Vail on Saturday, was extremely minor and could only hold Sanchez out for a week.
With Sanchez on the mend, Lynch and second-year QB Trevor Siemian will handle the under-center reps until he returns.
