Klint Kubiak, son of Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak, will leave his job as the wide receivers coach at the University of Kansas to join his father’s staff for the Denver Broncos, he announced on Tuesday. His position on the staff is still unknown.

A graduate of Colorado State in 2009, Klint has since worked on the offensive staffs for Texas A&M, the Minnesota Vikings and, of course, the University of Kansas. He was invited to the Washington Redskins rookie minicamp as a player.

Below is a statement Kubiak released today (Via JayhawkSlant.com):

“The past seasons and two signing classes at KU have been a true blessing both personally and professionally. I appreciate Dr. Zenger and coach Beaty for letting me into the Jayhawk family where they have created a culture focused on the development of the student-athletes. That means the whole person, not just the player.

I can’t think coach Beaty enough for believing in me and giving me a chance to coach his receivers.

It’s important the players who have strained alongside me know how much I appreciate their efforts. Tre Parmalee, Seth Conway, Matt Hentges, Shak Barbell, Austin Moses, Bobby Hartzog, Darious Crawley, Tyler Patrick, Derrick Neal, Chase Harrell, Jeremiah Booker, Steven Sims, Emmanuel Moore, Diante Ford, Chris Bell, LaQuvionte Gonzalez and Luke Curtis are men I will miss greatly. I am disappointed I will miss out coaching Keegan Brewer and Evan Fairs who will be great additions to the team.

It was an honor to represent Kansas football this past season. I am constantly blown away by the support of the donors, former players, and fans who have stayed with us through the season. The tough part of leaving is missing the good times that are ahead for KU football. Character wins, and so will coach Beaty. Rock Chalk!”

The news of Kubiak’s addition to the staff comes just one day after the Lions announced they had hired away Broncos offensive assistant brian Callahan.
