After trying out for the team, former Colorado State standout WR Joe Hanlsey officially signed with the Oakland Raiders Monday, and will likely have a spot on the team’s 90-man roster throughout training camp. The 5-foot-10 wide receiver was one of the most versatile and exciting players in CSU history and has been proving people wrong his entire career.

As an undersized wide receiver, Hansley used precise route running to get open, and his soft hands made him a consistent threat in the passing game. As a return man, Hansley was deadly, and this is likely where he will have the best chance to make an impact in the NFL.
“I know I only was out here with the rookies, so not anyone who officially had played in the NFL,” Hansley said, according to the Coloradoan’s Kelly Lyell. “But I think I have a good chance to make an impact in the return game. I believe they trust me to catch the ball, and ultimately that’s what they want back there.
“I’m optimistic, and I’m excited about my opportunities.”
Hansley is joining former CSU teammate Cory James, who was selected by the Raiders in the sixth round of the draft. Ram fans will hope to see both of these former CSU standouts on NFL rosters this fall.
