After recently working out former CSU point guard Antwan Scott, the Nuggets worked out seven players Monday afternoon, including winningest player in Colorado State men’s basketball history, Joe De Ciman.

De Ciman is one of the few players that played four seasons under Larry Eustachy, transitioning from a role player off the bench and developing into a workhorse for Eustachy’s Rams by his senior season, where he lead the team in minutes played per-game (32.7).

De Ciman is a lengthy guard who plays both ends of the court well. As a senior, the Canadian shot 39 percent from behind the 3-point arc and was one of the focal points in the offense, especially after the team lost Gian Clavell to a season-ending shoulder injury.

De Ciman started 86 of the past 87 games for the Rams and always posted better numbers offensively than the previous year, ultimately finishing with career-high averages his senior season in points (9.9), rebounds (5.1) and assists (1.7).

Along with Scott and De Ciman, former Colorado State standout forward J.J. Avila has not given up on his NBA prospects. After playing professionally in Belgium, alongside Stanton Kidd, Avila participated in a two-day minicamp with the New York Knicks last week.

In two seasons with CSU, Avila played a key role for the Rams, often being the most consistent scoring threat. In 63 games at CSU, Avila shot an astounding 50 percent from the field, averaging 16.7 points and 3.1 assists per-game.
