The Denver Nuggets have a definite need for outside shooting that they will most likely address this summer, but whether that shooter comes to Denver via the draft, free-agency, or both, is up in the air.

The Denver Post’s Christopher Dempsey noted in his latest breakdown of the draft’s best shooters, that former No. 10 overall pick Jimmer Fredette, has been working out this offseason in Highlands Ranch., Colo., and could be a candidate for the Nuggets’ Summer League roster.

After a memorable career at Brigham Young University, Fredette had stints with the Kings and Bulls and appeared in four games for the Pelicans and two games for the Knicks last season. Fredette married his college sweetheart in Colorado in 2012.

So what’s Fredette been up to since his short stint with New York?

The 27-year-old took part in a free agent point guard workout with the Timberwolves last week.

Fredette made 84-100 3-pointers for charity earlier this month. Take that Jamal Murray.

This week, Fredette is off to make an appearance at the Reno basketball camp. The camp hosts kids ages 3-12.

Fredette will try and get on a Summer League team and parlay his performance into a contract with an NBA franchise this fall. He’s reportedly not interested in returning to the D-League and would entertain offers from overseas clubs if he doesn’t land on a roster.

The Nuggets could put together quite the Summer League roster with Emmanuel Mudiay, Axel Toupane, Nikola Jokic, Jusuf Nurkic, possibly Fredette, 2015 second-round pick Nikola Radicevic, and whoever the team selects in the draft Thursday.
