Jerry Jeudy explains why he missed Russell Wilson's first workout camp and what he's already learned from the "Hall-of-Fame Quarterback"

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Where is Jerry Jeudy? Where is Jerry Jeudy?

That was the question for days when Russell Wilson brought his teammates out to his facility in San Diego to workout the week he was officially traded to the Broncos.

Tim Patrick, Courtland Sutton, K.J. Hamler, Albert Okwuegbunam and Lloyd Cushenberry were a few of the many Broncos in attendance at Wilson’s complex in Southern California.

But not Jerry Jeudy.

“At that time, I had a daughter. So I wasn’t able to make it,” Jeudy said on Wednesday, adding that his newborn is doing really well. “I had other things going on. Couple of weeks later I made it.”

Just the very next week, Wilson posted an instagram of him throwing a touchdown pass to Jeudy under the stars down in San Diego.

“It was cool,” Jeudy said about getting the one-on-one workout in with his new quarterback. “He was just teaching me the stuff that I didn’t really know about our offense. I learned a lot with him, just catching up on timing and routes and stuff like that. So everything went smooth.”

After a wildly successful college career at Alabama — where he was a consensus All-American, Biletnikoff Award winner and national champion — Jeudy’s been frustrated at times through his two years in the NFL.

“Those first two years are gone, so I’m just focused on this year,” he stated on Wednesday. “The biggest thing, really, is just taking care of my body. Learning the playbook, stuff like that. That is the biggest thing for me.”

With Wilson in town, there’s plenty of reasons to believe Jeudy’s career will takeoff his third year in Denver.

“He can help me a lot,” Jeudy said about having Wilson as his quarterback. “He’s a great quarterback, Hall of Fame quarterback that came into the offense as a leader and it made me better as well. He’s going to help me a lot this season.”

“Just his energy, uplifting guys, always motivating guys to go out there and just keep working hard,” Jeudy continued, discussing Wilson’s intangibles. “Even during the off days, when you don’t feel like working or doing your thing, he’s the guy that comes up there and gets your mind right for it. That’s a great guy to be around.”

In his two years with the Broncos, Jeudy has 90 catches for 1,323 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 26 games. In those two years, the Broncos have a 12-21 record.

In contrast, in Jeudy’s sophomore year at Alabama, he racked up 68 receptions for 1,315 yards and 14 touchdowns. In a single year.

In his three years in Tuscaloosa, the Crimson Tide racked up a 38-4 record. By Week 7 of his rookie season, he had as many losses in the NFL as he had in his entire three-year collegiate career.

Jeudy’s wins, losses and stats will look to drastically change with Wilson as his QB. According to Jeudy, Wilson’s passes are “right where [they] need to be.”

With Wilson’s precision, and elite, passing, Jerry Jeudy could end up being the biggest beneficiary of No. 3’s presence in the Mile High City.

If that’s the case, no one will ask “where is Jerry Jeudy?”
