LAS VEGAS — Nuggets guard Jamal Murray, who’s rehabbing from offseason surgery, was in uniform and out for warmups prior to Sunday’s Summer League matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves but did not play.

“It’s great. He’s chomping at the bit,” Nuggets’ coach Micah Nori said of Murray. “He was hurt all last year. He had the hernia thing and he still played 82 games. I think he’s finally back to normal.”

Murray underwent surgery on April 27 to repair core muscle-related injuries that he suffered during his rookie season and has been rehabbing in Denver for most of the summer. The 20-year-old played through two hernias last year but still managed to appear in a team-high 82 games — the only Nuggets player to do so.

Murray averaged 9.9 points on 40.4 percent shooting from the field and 33.4 percent from three to go with 2.1 assists per game on his way to second-team All-Rookie honors last season.

The 20-year-old won’t play here in Las Vegas but has practiced with the team in the lead up to Summer League and will be at 100 percent by the time training camp starts in September.

“He did some non-contact stuff at the beginning of camp like halfway through,” Nori said. “On the Thursday before we left he did the whole day so we were able to see him play and all that. I know he’s not 100 percent but he looks awful, awful good.”
