Jamal Murray bested in Skills Challenge by former CU Buff

A night after he went for 21 points in the Rising Stars Challenge, Jamal Murray advanced to the semifinals in the Taco Bell Skills Challenge where he fell to Brooklyn Nets point guard Spencer Dinwiddie. Murray was cruising until he clanged a three, which opened the door for Dinwiddie.

Murray beat the Clippers’ Lou Williams in the first round.

Murray breezed through round two until he missed a three-pointer that would’ve sent him to the finals. Dinwiddie, who starred at the University of Colorado from 2011-14, earned a come-from-behind win.

Dinwiddie went on to beat Bulls big man Lauri Markannen in the final round.
