Jaiden Kelly-Murray

Jaiden Kelly-Murray didn’t even need to visit Boulder to know that Colorado is the right place for his future.

The four-star wide receiver committed to the Buffs on Monday, choosing them over Illinois, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. Jaiden Kelly-Murray decommitted from in-state South Carolina last month and now gives Colorado nine commits in the 2027 recruiting class.

The Buffs didn’t have nine commits in the 2026 recruiting class until July 12 last year.

Colorado quarterback commit Andre Adams recently mentioned Jaiden Kelly-Murray as a recruit he would like to bring to Boulder with him. Adams got his wish and the Buffs got a dynamic weapon.

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound WR racked up 145 catches for 2,159 yards and 27 TDs over the last two seasons. Kelly-Murray is slated to take his official visit to Colorado on June 19 but he felt comfortable enough to announce his commitment before then.

Four-star offensive lineman Li’Marcus Jones committed to the Buffs the day before Jaiden Kelly-Murray did. Jones is a former Ole Miss commit who chose Colorado over Purdue and Mississippi State. Later that day, the Buffs got their fifth high school commitment of the week from cornerback Prince Washington (Houston, Texas) who chose Colorado over Houston, Memphis and others.

Each of the Buffs’ nine commits in the 2027 recruiting class hail from nine different states, evidence of a revamped approach from new director of recruiting Rashad Rich and new director of player personnel Darrius Darden-Box.

Colorado now has a top-five recruiting class in the Big 12 and Texas Tech is the conference’s only program with more four-star commits in the 2027 class than the Buffs. It’s a high school recruiting heater unlike anything Colorado football fans have seen during the Coach Prime era.

There are plenty of recruiting targets the Buffs are still in on and the 2027 class could grow again very soon.
