Inside the Avs' Locker Room: Thoughts on the Flames, and pics from the Google campus

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Let’s do something of a travelog piece here, on this Saturday in April.

Most of what you’ll hear on this piece of content are interviews of Avs players, before the game today in San Jose and after the game. There’s some decent stuff, including Big Z talking about how “dirty” the series with the Flames might be, and Jared Bednar talking about the possibility of Cale Makar joining the series at some point.

I also want to tell a bit about my day here. I saw the documentary “Apollo 11” at a movie theater in Mountain View, and wow was it great. It was just so well done. If you’re someone who was around when men first walked on the moon, in 1969, you’ll still love watching this. And if you have kids who know nothing about it. I urge you to take them too.

What a testament to the human spirit, and to our country, for going to the moon first. It’s a spellbinding documentary, truly.

I also walked around the Google campus after the movie, and I felt pretty much out of place. It sure looks like paradise, as a place to work. Here’s a pic:

That is a real T-Rex fossil near the front of the main lobby, which also has a big volleyball court next to the T-Rex.

OK, on to the pieces of uncut audio from the day. Jared Bednar will be heard from twice, once before the game and once after. In the pregame one, he talks about the health status of Mikko Rantanen, and also about the chance of Cale Makar joining the team:

First up, Bednar pregame:

Next up, Ian Cole, talking about Mario Lemieux’s outrageous wine cellar:

Next up, Big Z talking about potential playoff opponents:

Next up, Erik Johnson, after the game, talking about the Flames:

Next up, Philipp Grubauer, talking about being the starting goalie in the playoffs:

Last up, Bednar after the game, talking about the Flames:
