Tad Boyle has nabbed the ever-important big man he was looking for in the 2016 class. Dallas Walton, a 7-foot, 225-pound big man out of Arvada West high school announced on Instagram on Tuesday night that he would be spending his college years in Boulder.
Walton picks Colorado over offers from Wyoming, Denver and Middle Tenessee State. He had received interest from schools such as Oregon, Nebraska, Purdue and TCU.

While Walton is still raw, he’s not a complete project, the 7-footer has added good weight to his long frame, has some touch on his jumper and is a plus shot-blocker. Despite those skills, Walton’s recruitment has been a little funky due to the fact that he has torn his left ACL twice during his high school career. He is back healthy now, averaging 17 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks per game, helping A-West to an 8-2 record.
He joins guards Bryce Peters and Deleon Brown in the class of 2016 and can sign during the late signing period, starting April, 13.
