If it were up to Von Miller, Johnny Manziel would already be a Bronco

Gary Kubiak said earlier in the week that the Broncos have had conversations with Free Agent quarterback Johnny Manziel about a potential fit but the team will not be signing the former college star. If it were up to Super Bowl MVP Von Miller, Manziel would already be a Bronco.

“If I had to make my decision on it, he would already be on the Broncos,” Miller said of his fellow Texas A&M alumni. “But we’ve got guys in the front office that make those decisions, and they put us in championships with those decisions. So I’m just going to follow those guys and have those guys take the lead.”

This is the second instance since his release from the Browns that Von Miller has been vocal about his support for the former Heisman trophy winner. Miller has been spending his offseason on a media tour, from appearances to talk shows to dancing with the stars, he has a lot on his plate. Miller probably doesn’t need to add GM to his offseason responsibilities.

It’s been a whirlwind offseason for actual Broncos GM John Elway, losing a hall-of-fame quarterback in Manning to retirement, his prized prospect in Osweiler to a $72 million dollar deal with the Texans, acquiring another college star in Mark Sanchez and the never-ending game of chicken he seems to be playing with the San Francisco 49ers and Colin Kaepernick, but throughout the process he has never shown his hand and continue’s to devise a plan to fill that void.  Johnny Manziel doesn’t seem to be a part of the ever-evolving plan despite Miller’s wishes.
