Colorado State’s offense struggled in the first half of the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl, and defensive end Ian Seau was a major reason why.

On the second play of the game, Seau jumped up and batted down a would-be screen pass to Rashard Higgins. And on CSU’s eighth play, a 3rd and 8 from midfield, Seau rushed in and sacked Nick Stevens, forcing a fumble and a turnover.

Dalyn Dawkins was tackled behind the scrimmage for a loss twice on the next CSU drive, setting up a punt. Seau was a consistent presence in the Rams backfield all game long, hurrying Stevens’ throws.

And so it went. All throughout the day, Seau was making Rams offensive players say “Ow!” as he hit them.

Pro Football Focus reviewed and graded all the players from every bowl game, and Seau was the highest-rated edge-rusher with a 12.2 grade. According to the site, it was double his previous high grade as he enjoyed the sack with five total tackles.

Rams fans shouldn’t feel bad; the nephew of NFL legend Junior Seau is a stud who was named All-MW first-team and the Arizona Bowl’s defensive MVP. He’ll likely be playing in the NFL very soon.
