Suns watch on

The Denver Nuggets travel to Phoenix after sweeping the Suns out of Ball Arena to take a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference Semifinals. Nikola Jokic missed out on the 2022-23 MVP Award but is playing like he’s got his eyes on a much bigger prize. The Serbian center is averaging 27.7 points, 13.9 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game during the postseason, including hitting a robust 46.7 percent of his three-pointers.

Phoenix has gotten what they’ve expected out of the Devin Booker/Kevin Durant combo, as they’ve accumulated 115 of the Suns 194 total points in the first two games of this series. Their issue lies with depth, especially if Chris Paul will be unable to play in Game 3. The Suns bench has totaled just 28 points in two games, with only four coming in a pivotal game two loss.

The first round of the NBA Playoffs saw Denver coast by the Minnesota Timberwolves in five games, with Phoenix taking advantage of injuries to Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to also win in five.

The Nuggets played close games in Phoenix twice during the regular season, losing 100-93 in late March and 119-115 just a week later, despite playing only one regular starter in either of those games (Aaron Gordon).
