DENVER — Gary Harris suffered a right ankle sprain in the first quarter of the Nuggets matchup with the Orlando Magic Monday and did not return. Harris had X-rays but they were negative.
Harris is “doubtful” for the Nuggets’ matchup with the Lakers Tuesday night. He played three minutes Monday against the Magic before injuring his ankle on this drive to the rim.

When Harris was sidelined earlier this season, Will Barton stepped into the starting lineup but against the Magic Michael Malone went with Jameer Nelson to start the second half alongside Emmanuel Mudiay.
Nelson went on to play 32 minutes and score 18 points on 7-10 shooting. We’ll await word on what direction Malone decides to go for Denver’s game Tuesday night in Los Angeles against the Lakers, but rookie Jamal Murray is in line for more minutes as well.
In 17 games this season (16 starts), Harris is averaging 13.0 points per game on 47.4 percent shooting from the field and 39.3 percent from three.
