He’s back.
For one night, watching the Nuggets was fun again.
This is the Gallo fans, coaches and I’m sure Gallo himself have been waiting for.
Gallinari scored a career high 40 points in just 33 minutes in Sunday’s win over the Magic.
What’s most impressive of Gallo’s performance wasn’t his six three pointers he made, but rather the way he was able to fearlessly drive through the lane to get easy buckets.
Yes it was just a game vs the dreadful Orlando Magic, but all year the Nuggets have had a tentative Gallinari that looked like he was playing with fear. That fear seems to be gone.
Im not even going to try to type the Italian word for “on fire” but that is certainly what Gallo was last night.
Gallinari was a huge part of that 57 win team in 2012 when he averaged 16.2 points per game for the Nuggets. Many wonder if he hadn’t gotten hurt, the Nuggets might’ve won the first round series against the Warriors and George Karl would still be in Denver.
It looks like Gallo just took a big step towards becoming that player again.
