It seems like former Denver Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov’s national profile has been on a steady upward climb since the 7-footer was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers last season.
Part of that is because of Mozgov’s performance in last year’s NBA Finals where he burst onto the scene after scoring 17 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in Cleveland’s Game 2 win over the eventual NBA champion Golden State Warriors. He followed that up by pouring in 28 points and securing 10 rebounds in a Game 4 loss and posted 17 points and 12 rebounds in the eventual Game 6, series-clinching Warriors win.
Capitalizing on that success, Mozgov landed himself another local television spot, this time for Westlake Ohio’s Sky Zone, a trampoline park that we in Colorado know as “Jumpstreet.”
Let’s not forget Mozgov’s commercials for Middleburg Heights, Ohio’s Brew Garden that dropped last spring,
Or that time he accidentally spoke Russian during a post game interview, after he was asked a question in English.
I surely miss Mozzy’s lightheartedness and refreshing personality here in Denver, but it looks like he’s happy and has found a home in Cleveland. Look out for him this season rim-running for LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, likely on his way to another NBA Finals appearance, or continuing his internet fame as a local television star.
