Former Colorado Buffaloes point guard, Spencer Dinwiddie, was traded from the Detroit Pistons to the Chicago Bulls on Friday morning, ending his stint with the Pistons after two seasons. Chicago reportedly sent former New Mexico star Cameron Barstow to Detroit in return.
I want to thank the Pistons organization and Stan Van Gundy for taking a chance on me after my injury and giving me an opportunity

Since leaving Colorado after three seasons, the third of which was cut short due to an ACL tear that Dinwiddie had to rehab through the NBA Draft process, the man Buffs fans affectionately know as “The Mayor” has always had the popular vote with fans both in college and in the professional ranks. Unfortunately for him, Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy operates under his own mandate, opting to play NBA veteran Steve Blake over Dinwiddie for much of this passed season.
On the season as a whole, Dinwiddie played just 159 minutes in 13 games, including Detroit’s brief playoff appearance. All wasn’t for naught in Motor City, as the 6-foot-6 point guard had moments where he flashed his ability.
Current point guards on the Bulls’ roster include former MVP Derrick Rose and former Oregon Duck Aaron Brooks.
