Peyton Manning, who has been nursing a foot injury, finally returned to the practice field on Friday for the first time this week. BSN Denver ran a poll on Twitter asking Broncos Country if the Broncos should rest Peyton Manning during the divisional matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, to allow his injury to heal. Here are the results of the poll that received nearly 400 votes.
Should the Broncos rest Manning on Sunday and let his foot heal?

Broncos country is mostly split on the issue but more are in favor of starting Brock Osweiler over Manning. It’s interesting to wonder how much of that really has to do with Manning’s foot being an issue or just fans tired of his interception heavy play. The idea of resting Manning isn’t necessarily the craziest idea. The Broncos have won 7 straight matchup’s vs. the Chiefs and currently hold a comfortable lead in the AFC West, and many believe Osweiler is a capable enough player to continue that win streak.
Although it hasn’t been confirmed by the team, Manning’s foot injury is believed to be plantar fasciitis, which could take weeks to recover fully from, not just one. If there were a time during the schedule to give Manning some rest, a home game against the “Charles no longer in charge” Chiefs, followed by a trip to Chicago to see and old friend in John Fox and the Bears, might be the perfect opportunity leading up to the ever-so-important matchup against the Patriots in week 12.
That said, aside from a neck injury that needed four operations to repair, Peyton Manning doesn’t miss games and is likely to be the starter come Sunday afternoon at 2:25pm.
