Colorado State men’s basketball announced Monday the signing of forward Alonzo Tyson to a National Letter of Intent. The 6-foot-9 forward from Fayetteville, N.C. spent his first two collegiate seasons at Cape Fear Community College.
Tyson, who has two seasons of eligibility remaining, will be able to suit up for the Rams in the 2017-18 campaign.
Last season, Tyson started in 25 of his 31 games played, averaging 14 points and just over eight rebounds per contest. The product of Trinity Christian High School shot 65 percent from the field in 2016-17 and posted a career-high 27 points March 1.
Larry Eustachy sees his most recent signee as an inside force, particularly on the defensive end.
“We are very excited about Alonzo,” Eustachy said in a press release. “He brings a shot-blocking dimension that I don’t think we have had in my time here.”
Tyson joins guards Raquan Mitchell and Kris Martin to make up this year’s recruiting class for the Rams.
