Last week the Denver Broncos got fitted for their Super Bowl rings. Just another exciting part of the process that is the offseason following a World Championship.
On Monday, the Denver Broncos got back to work, the first workout of their offseason program and afterward, Emmanuel Sanders was asked if this marks the time to start putting 2015 behind him. Interestingly, Emmanuel turned that question into a chance to tell the world about the relationship he’s going to have with that ring he was fitted for last week.
“I don’t think you ever put 2015 just behind you,” he said. “Because every day I’m going to go home and talk to my ring. I’m going to lay next to it, sleep next to it and eat breakfast next to it… I might start crying just talking about it (laughing).”
“It’s one of those seasons that gives you confidence,” he added. “That allows you to poke your chest out. I’m going to be 60 years old and say, ‘Hey, 2015!’ I’m never going to put that behind me. I don’t ever want to put it back. There have a been a lot of seasons that I do want to put behind me.”
Sanders is hungry to get another Super Bowl, he said as much Monday, but he’s certainly not ready to put the glory “behind” him. Especially not when those Super Bowl rings arrive.
