Emmanuel Sanders is an extra-special football player.
Annually, the NFL has been putting together their Top 100 Players list, polling fellow players as a way to give respect to the greats in the game today. On Wednesday, the first 10 players were announced, from Randall Cobb at No. 100 to Julian Edelman at No. 91. Smack dab in the middle of those two receivers was Sanders of the Denver Broncos at No. 95.
Sanders was a solid receiver for five years with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but 2014 was a breakout season for the speedy wideout. His 101 receptions for 1,404 yards and nine touchdowns were all career highs, by far. The production earned him a first Pro Bowl selection and landed him on the Top 100 list for the first time, too.
In fact, Sanders was one of five receivers in the NFL with 100 catches last season. Yards-wise, he and Demaryius Thomas combined for more than 3,000 yards receiving, easily the most for a duo in the league.

And don’t forget, he’ll only be the first of many likely to land on the list.
