Do the Colorado Avalanche actually make players better?

Over the last handful of years the Avs have brought in a number of depth players and reclamation projects but have they actually performed betting in Colorado? The numbers a encouraging, and when applied to incoming players like Ross Colton and Ryan Johansen it could spell big things for the Avalanche this season.
