DNVR Rugby Podcast: Colorado XO Forward Vic Evans

Colton Strickler Avatar
March 26, 2021

Colton starts the show off with “The Breakdown” by recapping the XOs 38-28 victory over Belmont Shore last weekend, the XOs trip to Florida this weekend, and gives his thoughts on Major League Rugby’s opening weekend before wrapping up with all of the rugby you can watch this weekend (0:00-17:19). After “The Breakdown”, Colton talks with Colorado XO forward Vic Evans about playing football at Ole Miss, how he’s enjoying being a member of the XOs, and how being told ‘No’ fuels this team (17:21-40:49). After the interview, Colton talks about some “Required Reading” and closes the show with “The Loop” (40:51-43:15).

Vic Evans was a four-year contributor at defensive end for the Ole Miss Rebels football team from 2015 through 2018. Evans finished his college career with 67 total tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown. His efforts at Ole Miss earned him an invitation to the Washington Football Team’s rookie mini-camp, and ultimately a contract with the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL. After the deal with Edmonton fell through, Evans decided to join the XOs to give rugby a try.
