DNVR Rugby Podcast: American Raptors Wing Fabian Thames

Colton begins the show with “The Breakdown” presented by O’Neills by talking about the American Raptors’ upcoming match against the L.A. Rising Stars, some MLR playoff scenarios, and All of the Rugby You Can Watch this weekend presented by Wintergreen (0:00-7:56). Following “The Breakdown”, Colton and American Raptors wing Fabian Thames talk about Fabian’s transition to rugby, the support he’s received from his hometown, and the thin air in Colorado. After the interview presented by GuardLab, Colton talks about some try scorers in the Stat of the Week presented by Catapult, assigns some “Required Reading”, and closes the show with “The Loop” presented by First Bank (23:55-27:21).

Fabian Thames played linebacker at American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts. During his four years at AIC, he totaled 89 tackles, one and a half sacks, and returned four kickoffs for 106 yards. Following his football career, he caught the eye of American Raptors Director of Rugby Mark Bullock at the National Scouting Combine and decided to give rugby a try.
