Colton Strickler kicks off the show with ‘The Breakdown’ by talking about the most recent news of a Hawaiian MLR team, the WPL’s announcement to cancel their 2020 season, and a Super Rugby update. After that, Colton sits down for a conversation with rugby photographer Davey Wilson regarding taking runner-up in the portfolio category for Rugby Photographer of the Year, shooting for artists like Metro Station and A$AP Rocky, and what he loves about shooting rugby. After that, Colton assigns some ‘Required Reading’ and teases a big guest for next week’s show.
Davey Wilson is an English-American photographer, primarily known for documenting the rise of rugby in the US. Wilson shoots notoriously close to his subjects and often puts as much weight on behind-the-scenes moments as he does on-field action. Always with a sharp focus on the emotional aspects of sport, Wilson loves to show strength through struggle.
Equally known for his images of cycling, Wilson’s work with the Axel Merckx-helmed development team, Hagens Berman Axeon Cycling Team has been ongoing since 2015.
Wilson travels often & is available to book worldwide.
