Plays-that-make-you-Smile-Twin-AspenWe’ve been incredibly lucky to have An Nguyen’s phenomenal video coverage of the Denver Nuggets this season. In that light, we’ll be showcasing the Nuggets Plays of the Week right here on BSN Denver.

We’d like to keep these to the Top 5 plays, but on heavy game week’s like this one — we have to go for more. This week those videos will includes plays from the following games: the Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers, Oklahoma City Thunder and Memphis Grizzlies.

This is a bit of an odd week as every game in this series was a home game. The Nuggets were in the middle of an eight game home stand where the players wanted to post a 6-2 record, according to head coach Michael Malone.

Denver went 1-3 during this stretch and the loss to the Grizzlies spoiled their team goal, as the best they can finish is now 5-3 on the season-long home stand.

Play 1 vs Heat: Emmanuel Mudiay puts Hassan Whiteside on a poster.

Play 2 vs Pacers: Danilo Gallinari collects an offensive rebound and puts Paul George in the spin cycle.

Play 3 vs Pacers: Will Barton gets the chase-down block on Glenn Robinson III on one end, Gary Harris finishes the layup plus the foul on the other.

Play 4 vs Pacers: Mudiay beats shot-blocker Miles Turner, C.J. Miles and Paul George to the rim for an emphatic slammajamma.

Play 5 vs Thunder: Mudiay goes through the trees to find his compadre Kenneth Faried for the jam. This is the kind of vision that makes Mudiay such an incredible NBA prospect at the point guard position.

Play 6 vs Grizzlies: This time it’s Faried with the chase-down block on the defensive end against Matt Barnes and Gallinari buries the 3-pointer on the other end.

Play 7 vs Grizzlies: Nikola Jokic pokes the ball away from Marc Gasol, races down the other and skies for the dunk (a joke about his vertical … then a terrible explanation of the obvious joke!). Shoutout to Vic Lombardi’s fabulous hair that can also be seen in this video.

Play 8 vs Grizzlies: Jokic gets his shot tipped, tracks down the errant shot and somehow finds Faried on the behind the back bounce pass.
