The Denver Nuggets brought in some local talent for draft workouts this week. Three of those players played for Tad Boyle’s Colorado Buffaloes last season.
George King worked out for the Nuggets on Monday in front of head coach Mike Malone and General Manager Tim Connelly. Although it’s become well-known that King will be returning to Boulder next season, he still wanted to go through the draft process, “To kind of have a little experience doing it already,” and to not look like a ‘deer in the headlights’ when he goes through the process again next year.
Xavier Johnson and Wes Gordon also got a taste of the next level when they worked out for the Nuggets on Tuesday. They don’t have any NCAA eligibility left so they, unlike King, were working for a job.

The Nuggets have a history in picking up local talent for their summer league team so look for Johnson and Gordon’s name to possibly be on that roster.
